1. Gaussの超幾何級数を合流させたものとして、Kummerの合流型超幾何級数、Hermite-Weber関数、Bessel関数、Airy関数の計四個の合流型超幾何級数が知られている。この内、前の三個の関数は、「隣接関係を持つ」という性質を持っている。本年度は、それぞれの関数の隣接関係式の係数を明示的に表示した。それらは対称性を持っており、合流型超幾何級数の積の和で表すことも出来るし、また発散級数の積の和（それを途中で打ち切ったもの）でも表すことも出来る。このことから、三個の合流型超幾何級数の隣接関係式の基本構造が明らかになった。今まで、Bessel関数以外の隣接関係式の係数の明示的表示については知られていなかった。また、Bessel関数の隣接関係式の係数の明示的表示についても、今までとは違う観点から導出している。2. Appellの多変数超幾何級数F1の隣接関係式の対称性を明らかにした。それは五次の対称群と同型となる。この対称性と、前年度に導入した、超幾何級数の特殊値を探し出す方法である「隣接関係式の方法」を組み合わせることによって、Appellの多変数超幾何級数F1の特殊値を組織的に探し出すことに成功した。3. Appellの多変数超幾何級数F2の隣接関係式の係数を明示的に表示した。これら係数は、F2の積の和によって表される。また、この明示的表示から、この隣接関係式の対称性も明らかになった。4. Appellの多変数超幾何級数F2は偏微分方程式系を満たすことが知られている。この微分方程式系の解空間は一般には四次元であるが、F2のパラメータが特殊な条件を満たしていれば、この解空間の中にモノドロミー群の作用に対して不変な部分空間が存在する。3の結果を用いて、この不変な部分空間を記述する偏微分方程式を明示的に導出した。

The expression of the adjacent relation is symmetric. 4. Appell's multiple hypergeometric series F2 is a partial differential equation system. The solution space of the differential equation system is generally four-dimensional, F2 is a special condition, and the solution space of the differential equation system is a partial space. 3. The partial differential equation is expressed in terms of space.
