関係性攻撃の生起と心理社会的適応に対する児童の関係性攻撃の捉え方の関連を検討するため，児童4～6年生を対象に複数の質問紙調査を実施し，主に以下の点を明らかにした。(1)関係性攻撃の生起にかかわる児童の情報処理過程を解明するため，加害者の意図が曖昧な被害を受ける架空のエピソードを提示し，各場面について，相手への反応行動の選択肢を自由記述させる調査や，提示された反応行動を評価させる調査を実施した。そして，児童の関係性攻撃の捉え方である関係性攻撃観が，情報処理過程を歪め，反応行動を攻撃的なものに偏らせるかどうか検証された。その結果，関係性攻撃観の中でも，報復的な関係性攻撃を許容する「正当化」が，被害を受けた際の反応行動として攻撃行動を肯定的に評価するように情報処理過程を歪めさせ，結果として攻撃行動の表出に関連することが示唆された。(2)関係性攻撃観と攻撃行動，心理社会的適応の関連を検討するため，関係性攻撃観尺度，攻撃行動（外顕的攻撃と関係性攻撃），仲間からの承認と被侵害，抑うつ，不安，関係性攻撃経験が測定された。その結果，関係性攻撃の加害経験のある児童は，攻撃行動の実行の有無にかかわらず，仲間からの承認が低く，被侵害が高いことが明らかになった。一方で，関係性攻撃の傍観者や未経験の児童，被害経験のみ児童においては，関係性攻撃観の中でも関係性攻撃を高頻度に生じるものと捉える「身近さ」が高いと，実際に関係性攻撃に従事し，その結果，仲間からの承認を低め，被侵害を高める可能性が示唆された。また，不安・抑うつなどの心理的不適応に関しては，加害や被害などの経験によらず，攻撃行動に従事することが心理的不適応に関連することが示された。以上の結果から，関係性攻撃行動の促進や抑制に関連する関係性攻撃観は，児童の心理社会的適応にかかわる重要な要因であることが明らかになった。
