项目摘要

近年の複数財生産企業(Multiproduct firms) の理論および実証分析では、企業の生産する財構成の絞り込みや入れ替え(product churning) の生産性成長に与える影響は、従来生産性変動の主要要因として議論されてきた企業の参入・退出の与える影響を上回ると報告されている。今年度は、WTO加盟により中国において生じた外資参入規制変化『外商投資産業指導目録』の改定の影響を受け、前年度の研究において確認された対中直接投資を行った台湾事業所が生産性向上を実現した結果の背景にどのような財構成の転換が生じていたのかを解明するため、台湾事業所・財別データを利用することを通じ、対中直接投資からの事業所・財レベル拡張マージン(extensive margin)および集中マージン(intensive margin)への影響を分析した。その結果、対中直接投資を行った事業所において、生産財や輸出財の数が増加していたことが分かった。他方、対中直接投資ないし輸出を行っていた事業所においては、主要財の売上シェアが減少しており、その傾向は輸出事業所よりも対中直接投資に従事する事業所の方が減少の規模が大きかった。そこで、さらに新規に対中直接投資を行った事業所と2000年時点で既に対中直接投資を行っていた事業所について検討したところ、新規に直接投資をした事業所の方が2000年から2002年にかけてより大きく売り上げに占める主要財シェア、主要輸出財シェア、主要国内売上財シェアを落としていたことが分かった。このように、中国の規制変化を通じて台湾事業所は財の数自体は増やしているものの、各主要売上財を海外直接投資により台湾から中国へ移転しているかもしれないことが分かった。今後、主要財生産の海外移転と出身地域経済における生産性向上との間の理論的および実証的関係性について詳しい検討が必要とされる。
