研究目的は、未だに充分な記述のなされていない印欧語族のドマーキ語(/ドマー語)について、周辺言語との対照研究や、他の印欧語との比較研究とを通じて一般言語学の理論に資することを可能にするような、精確かつ詳細な記述を行うことであり、この研究の最初の年であった今年度は、ドマーキ語に関する基礎固めの年と位置付けていた。フィールド調査は計画通りに初夏(6～7月 ; 1ヶ月間弱)と晩冬(2～3月 ; 3週間)の二度、パキスタンのギルギット・バルティスタン州フンザ谷のモミナバード村を中心に行った。ドマーキ語の調査と並行して、ブルシャスキー語の調査も実施した。ドマーキ語に関しては、以前録音してあった物語一篇(約5分)の文字起こしが完了し、グロス・訳文も付けてテキストとしてまとめた(未発表)。それ以外にも文法事項の確認、語彙の収集を並行して進めた。新規に録音・録画した物語は一篇(約20分)。初夏の調査で得られた情報は国外での口頭発表にも反映されている。ブルシャスキー語の調査も物語の録音・録画(一篇 : ナゲル方言 : 約6分半)、文法事項・語彙の調査を中心として進めており、接触しているドマーキ語との文法上の類似点と相違点などをより厳密に描き出す準備が整って来ている。同州ギルギット市ベディシャル地区にもドマーキ語話者が居ること、ヤスィン谷の同民族居住地でも話者が居る可能性があることなどが今年の調査中に明らかになった。現地調査はスタートしているが、研究成果としてどんどんと発表して行く段階にはまだ至っていない。しかし、目標としていた地盤固めは順調に進んでいると言える。先行研究にない文法事項も幾らか確認されているので、そろそろ文法スケッチとしてまとめられそうな頃合にはなっている。

The purpose of this study is to provide an adequate description of the Indo-European language family, to study the linguistic context, and to make a comparative study of other Indo-European languages.
