项目摘要

本研究は『語と指示対象の恣意的連合と非恣意的連合の学習過程の違い』について検証することが目的であった。恣意的連合とは、語と指示対象の間に必然的な結びつきのない連合を示す。一方で、非恣意的連合とは語と指示対象の間に必然的な結びつきがある連合であり、オノマトペなどはその代表である。本研究では恣意性の有無が連合の学習過程に与える影響を検証するために、被験者に実際に恣意的連合と非恣意的連合を学習させ、その学習の際の成績の変化や脳活動の変化を検証した。fMRI実験では、被験者に無意味文字列と無意味図形を提示して、その学習成績と脳活動の記録を行なった。実験後は、提示された連合を評価してもらい、連合の恣意性についてスケーリングを行なった。現在は、結果の解析を行なっている段階である。当初、本年度の研究目標は予備実験で終始する予定であったが、fMRI実験まで行なうことができた。今後は、本成果を発表するよう努める。本研究の成果は、ことばの形成において恣意性がどのような役割を担っているかについて科学的な示唆を与えることが期待できるだろう。
