本研究の目的は、パートナーの妊娠期から産後1年における父親の精神健康状態の変化と、父親がどの時期にどのような援助を必要としているかを明らかにすることである。2022年度は、「妊娠期におけるコミュニケーションツールとしてのポータブル超音波機器使用効果検証のための縦断的調査研究」における、父親のエジンバラ産後うつ評価尺度を使用した調査結果（パートナーが妊娠20週・26週・32週・産後1ヵ月時）を参考に調査時期の選定と母子手帳交付部署への調査協力依頼を実施し、質問紙を作成後、1市町村にてパイロットスタディを実施する予定であった。しかし、コロナ禍であったことから、現在も調査が続いており、パイロットスタディの準備を平行して実施している状況である。中間解析の結果では、妊娠20週前後と26週前後では、メンタルの評価において変化はなかったが、「対児感情尺度」における【接近得点】が上昇し、「妊娠期の妻への夫の関わり満足感尺度」の下位尺度である【夫婦のコミュニケーション】も上昇していした。夫婦のメンタルは互いに影響し合うことから、コミュニケーションが増えていることがメンタルに良い影響をもたらしたと考える。今後、32週、産後1ヵ月の分析結果を踏まえて、本研究の調査時期を確定する予定である。また、初産婦のパートナーのみの結果であることから、パイロットスタディの結果を踏まえて、経産婦のパートナーの調査時期も再考する予定である。
