This research aims at finding best uses and approaches to train tourism professionals with immersive technology. A WebXR Tourism Experience System was started in 2022. The project involved leveraging WebXR to create and build features including 360-degree tours, hotspot interactions, and movement systems. A technology developer was consulted, and substantial design work was done. The system's initial development phase was finished by April 2023, when it was put through a program for testing. One program collaborated with the UNWTO, JICA, and six university tourism departments around Asia for a virtual training program. This was a pilot study that is hoped to guide the development frameworks for integrating immersive technologies in tourism-related settings.
