本研究は、「近代日本において、雑誌メディアの生産・流通・保存の過程とは同時代の思想の発展にどのように関連したかを総合的に把握する」という「問い」の解決に向け、具体的に雑誌『太陽』の記事分析と博文館に関する一次史料の読解を組み合わせ、博文館の雑誌出版活動の特質を解明することを目的とし、①新潟県加茂市立図書館所蔵の坪谷善四郎資料の全容を明らかにする。研究成果として資料目録を刊行することによって、今後の研究の利便性を向上させる。②坪谷資料の日記、書簡類の一部を翻刻し、編集者と著者のやり取りを具体的に解明することで、明治時代の雑誌『太陽』の誌面の理解に新たな知見を加える。③あわせて、坪谷資料以外の博文館関係資料や博文館以外の明治時代の雑誌発行に関する調査・検討を進め、雑誌メディアから見た明治の思想文化の理解を深める。の３つを課題とした。今年度は①の作業に着手し、現状の把握、点数の確認、日記等の史料の写真撮影を進めた。日記については撮影が完了した。また、雑誌を用いた歴史研究の手法について、研究代表者の長尾は図書館等の機関における雑誌保存状況とデジタル化の現状について論文を発表した。

The third question is: This year, we will start our work, grasp the current situation, confirm the number of points, and record the photos of historical materials such as diaries. The diary is over. This paper presents the status of preservation of records and the status quo of their development by means of research methods, research representatives, long-tail libraries, etc.
