新学習指導要領の導入により，初等中等教育においてSTEAM教育の推進やプログラミング教育の拡充が求められている．本研究ではデジタル社会の実現に向けた人材育成として，STEAM教育推進のための学習コンテンツ開発を行うとともに，それらの実践的な活用について自治体やその教育関連施設，地元企業らとの産官学連携によって創出することを目指す．令和4年度は，STEAM教育推進に向けた学習コンテンツ開発を行うにあたり，STEAM教育に関する調査と学習コンテンツに関する検討・選定を行った．また，ビジュアルプログラミング言語Processingを用いたジェネラティブ・アートの制作によるSTEAM教育推進のための学習コンテンツの試作に取り組んだ．主要科目と同じくプログラミング教育も段階的な学習ステップを踏む必要があることや図形の定義等について学ぶ時期などの理由から，小学校の中学年から高学年を想定した学習内容を初級レベル，中級レベル，上級レベルと3段階に難易度を分けて試案した．今後，対象とする学年やそれに対応する学習内容を増やし，充実させていくことを想定している．また，研究計画において，次年度に開発した学習コンテンツの実証実験を予定，最終年度には開発した学習コンテンツをオープンデータ(CCBY)として公開する予定としていることから，今後に先立ち自治体やその関連組織(関連施設)，地元企業との協働の取り組みの中で，地域においてオープンデータの利活用を前提とした産官学連携による取り組みが可能であることについても確認した．
