2022年9月に、倫理委員会に研究を申請し、10月に承認された。皮膚色測定は、日焼けの影響を少なくするため、冬季（2022年12月から3月）に施行した。健診センター受診者（健診群）113名（男性51名、女性62名）、呼吸器内科外来受診者（COPD、間質性肺炎の患者、患者群）26名（男性17名、女性9名）の測定が完了した。年齢は、健診群が63.2±10.5歳（38～85歳）、患者群は77.3±6.7歳（67～91歳）で、患者群のほうが高齢だった。血圧に関しては、健診群で収縮期135.5±17.9 mmHg (102～173mmHg)、拡張期83.1±12.2mmHg (58～125mmHg)で、高血圧の対象者も含まれていた。Hbは健診群が14.0±1.3 g/dL（10.4～17.1 g/dL）、患者群は13.6±1.5 g/dL（10.0～15.8 g/dL）であった。皮膚色の解析に関しては、各対象者の前額3回、前腕3回（左右で6回）の分光反射率のグラフ作成をし、代表測定回を選択し、L*a*b*値を決定していく。
