1.Forward(on the Input of Manyoushu Text) : The report describes the process of completing the input of Manyoushu poems,giving each poem the number, dividing each phrase, and categorising each word,up to 4516 poems by Feburary,1987.Itdescribes our conpletion of registering all the words listed by the categorization symbols(a-o) of the Manyoushu word Processing System. Finally, a detailed explanation is given as to the classification of words.2. Analysis of Choka : Although it might be possible to state all the working processes of the data processed by computer as part of research,we have decided that an analysis be made on fortty-four poems by three poets,Kakinomoto-Hitomaro,Yamabeno-Akahito,Yamanoueno-Okura. The following series of work has been done on the long poem (Choka) and (Hanka) representive of each of the three poets:(1) To express it in the (Kana) and (Kanji), (2) sylable-marking, (3) division into phrase,and assigning the symbols,(4) deletion of all (Hiragana), (5)bracketing the modifiers, (6)deletion of modifiers.(the above 3 is stored in PC) From these 6 angles we have clarified the differeces of the three poets.
