調査対象離島(4か所)の野菜生産と市場対応に関して次のような項目を調査し現状分析を行った。野菜生産に関して:土地利用(地域全体,調査対象農家)、労働力と機械化(地域全体,調査対象農家),野菜の栽培方法と栽培品目(地城全体,調査対象農家)市場対応に関して:自給的野菜(地域全体,調査対象農家),野菜の商品化率,広城流通(果外出荷)の市場対応,地域流通(県内の他の農業地域への出荷)の市場対応、地場流通(農業地城内への出荷)の市場対応以上の現状分析により各調査対象離島の野菜生産と市場対応の特徴を明確にした。まだ最終的な結論ではないが、離島における野菜生産と市場対応に関する共通した問題点の一部をあげると次の通りである。野菜生産との関連では:さとうきび作との複合経営の場合にはさとうきび作業(特に収穫作業)の省力化が野菜生産の充実拡大と重要な関連性がある。家畜が少なく、地力維持のための堆厩肥の確保が困難である。市場対応との関連では:品目の拡大,品質の向上,安定出荷体制の確立,少量販売体制の確立,等がある。成果報告書では、以上のような検討結果をふまえて、今後の離島における野菜生産と市場対応のあり方をまとめたい。

To investigate and analyze the current situation of wild vegetable production and market in the outlying islands (4).
