本年度の研究活動は、昨年度までの3ケ年にわたった研究の成果のとりまとめに集約される。とりまとめと言っても、本研究の場合には、諸研究が一貫した1つのフロ-に從って整然と進められたことをふまえ、体系化された1冊の英文モノグラフとして、平成4年3月末に出版することを目ざしている。モノグラフは、序章 研究のねらいと経緯、第1章 関連研究のレビュ-、第2章 フィリピン海および周辺海域の深層流のマッピング、第3章 化学トレ-サ-の分布、第4章 懸濁粒子を形作る物質と堆積物の続成作用、第5章 フィリピン海および太平洋の深層循環のモデリング、第6章 深層循環および深層水の拡がりに係わる付加的課題の研究、第7章 深海測定に関する支援技術の開発、第8章 要約と結言 よりなる。各章毎に概説を設け、他章との関連づけを明確にすることに役立てるよう配慮している。本年度末までに、すべての章の英文原稿を整えることができた。

This year's research activities are different from those of last year's. In this case, the study was published in the end of March 2004. Chapter 1: Correlation Study, Chapter 2: Deep Circulation in the Pacific Ocean, Chapter 3: Chemical Distribution, Chapter 4: Formation of Suspended Particles and Accumulation of Matter, Chapter 5: Deep Circulation in the Pacific Ocean Chapter 6: Research on Further Issues Related to Deep Circulation and Deep Water; Chapter 7: Development of Supporting Technologies Related to Deep Water Measurement; Chapter 8: Conclusion Chapter 2: The Relationship between the Two Chapters At the end of the year, the English manuscript of the chapter was revised.
