1 今年度の研究により、上記研究課題について、明らかにした点は次の点である。即ち、地中海世界の激動期である16世紀におけるヴェネツィアの商業取引は、高度に発達した通信機構を通じて、動態的に形成されるものである、という点。具体例を一つ示す。A(地点・以下同様)の商人は各地からの小麦市況の報告を比較考量し、Bでの購入を決意し、Bの代理人に購入を命令する。同時にC・D・Eの代理人にC・D・Eから船舶をBに派遣させ、Bで小麦を積ませる。同時に各地からの最新の市況報告に基づいて、その船をFに向わせ、Fの代理人に命令して、小麦をそこで販売、あるいは更に他に転送させる。この間、刻一刻入信する情報に基づいて判断した結果、B〜Fの具体的地名は変更されうるのである。こうしてはじめて、激動する市況の変化に対応しえたのである。2 こうした研究成果の一部は既に論文として完成し、出版社にわたしてある(本報告書の所定欄を参照されたい。)3 とはいえ、残念ながら、この研究は必ずしも十分にはなされなかった。というのは本年(昭和61年)度の社会経済史学会大会の共通論題(都市共同体とギルド)の報告者の一人に選ばれてしまい、その報告(昭和61年9月21日、立教大学)の準備にかなりの時間を割かなければならないことになったからである。ちなみにその報告要旨は『社会経済史学会第55回大会報告要旨』pp.66-73に公刊され、また来年度の『社会経済史学』にそれに加筆、修正した論文が公刊される予定である。4 現在は、上記研究課題にについての研究を継続して行っている。
