研究者は玉川大学出版部刊『芸術と社会』所収論文「逸り立つ馬上で平静な-ナポレオン一世時代の美術研究序論」において, ナポレオン関係美術という限定されたテーマをめぐって新古典主義美術の特性を探り, ナポレオン時代の美術において, すぐれて19世紀的現象であるロマン主義的および写実主義的な要素が既に胚胎されていることを総論的に論証した. さらに『明治学院論叢』所収論文「ルーヴル美術館の誕生・II-大革命から第一帝政へ-」においては, ナポレオンの美術行政の最大の果実であるナポレオン美術館(現在のルーヴル美術館)の成立過程の研究を通じて, その文化史的意義と当時の美術界に与えた影響を明らかにした. 『言語文化』所収論文「ダヴィッドと革命の美術-フランス革命の視覚言語」においては, 画家ジャックンルイ・ダヴィッドと大革命との関わりを究明した. 画家はのちに皇帝ナポレオンの首席画家に任命されるが, その彼の軌跡の研究は, 大革命と第一帝政という新古典主義美術の政治的背景の二面性を明らかにするために重要な意味をもっている. 『英語青年』所収予定論文「英国18世紀のHistory Paintingについて-絵画における近代性の問題」は, ナポレオン時代のフランス絵画にみられる現実性の優位という特質が, 英国18世紀絵画に既にみられるという所見を通じ, 英仏の近代絵画の相関関係を究明し, さらに対ナポレオン戦争関係の英国絵画をも論じている. 研究者は以上のような具体的研究を通じ, フランス新古典主義美術の多面性を究明した. 今後は新古典主義美術の終焉と時期を同じくする, 絵画におけるモダニズムの発端という問題に研究を進めてゆく予定である.

The researcher is a researcher who published a paper in Tamagawa University's Journal of Art and Society, entitled "A Preface to the Study of Fine Arts in the Era of Peace and Tranquility". The researchers are interested in exploring the multidimensionality of neoclassical art through concrete research. In the future, the end of neoclassical art will be the same, and the study of painting will be further developed.
