家畜サルモネラに分布する数メガダルトン内外の小型Rプラスミドが他の腸内細菌にも認められるものと同じなのか否かを知るため以下の研究をした. 大腸菌についてこれまでに得られた成績は以下の通りである.1.病馬及び正常馬由来大腸菌株の約40%は1剤以上に耐性で, 耐性62株中53株(85.5%)は1株を除き耐性因子を一括接合伝達した. これらの接合性Rプラスミドの一部は不和合群IαとFIIに分類された. 耐性62株のプラスミドプロフィールを探索したところ, 半数は小型プラスミドを保有しないが保有株の中では2種のもの10, 1種8, 3種6, 4種3, 5種3, 6種1株の様に1〜3種の保有株が多かった. 非伝達株ではSm, Su, Tc, Apなどに耐性のものが多い.2.肥育子牛由来の2〜6剤耐性大腸菌8株はすべて不和合群Iα SmKmRプラスミドを保有し, そのうち4株ではFIIRプラスミドが共存していた. 元株耐性型とRプラスミド耐性因子型が一致する4株では小型プラスミドは認められず, 非伝達性のAp, Tc, Suなどの耐性株4株では1〜4種の小型プラスミドを保有していた.3.単剤耐性の豚由来大腸菌3株, 同じく2剤耐性2株から不和合群IαTcRプラスミドが得られたが, 5株共に2〜4種の小型プラスミドを保有していた. また, 非伝達性Su耐性が認められた.上記の馬, 牛, 豚由来大腸菌株が保有している各小型プラスミドについて今後, トランスフォーメーションなどによりRプラスミドか否かを検索したり, さらに馬や牛由来サルモネラの既知の小型Rプラスミドとの相同性をハイブリダイゼーション試験により確認する必要がある.
