During October 29 to November 14, 1989, the mission has visited to 4 supercomputer centers and National Science Foundation in USA in order to investigate the present status of the said organizations with the presentations about the activity of Japanese Academic Computing Services. It is found that the close corporation among US government, Academic Societies and Industries, the intensive effort for visualization, the effective user support, the planning of high speed data highway, and etc. This will be useful for the future projection of Japanese Computing Services Planning.

在1989年10月29日至11月14日期间，该使命团访问了美国的4个超级计算机中心和国家科学基金会，以调查上述组织的现状，并介绍了日本学术计算服务机构的活动。研究发现，美国政府、学术团体和产业界之间的密切合作、对可视化的深入努力、有效的用户支持、高速数据高速公路的规划等，对日本计算服务业的未来规划具有借鉴意义。
