项目摘要

最終年度に当る本年には,報告書の刊行に向けて以下の作業を重点的に進めた。1前年度までで壷甕容器の資料が十分収集できなかった地域について,最新刊の発掘調査報告書を調べ資料の充実を計った。2収集した資料を律令国家の行正単位である国毎に整理検討し、国別の壷甕容器の図版を作製。3平城宮・京出土資料のうち、明らかに日常使用する一般容器類と異なるもの,すなはち、税物運搬容器や他の事情で都に運ばれてきた容器類を集成し,実測・トレ-スを行い図版を作製。現在、成果報告は印刷中。1・2の作業を通じて(1)各国に固有な容器が存在すること,(2)例えば北陸道とか東海道というような地域的なまとまりの中で共通する器形が存在すること,(3)平城宮・京で日常付器として使用されるものと同じ器形が存在する国としない国があることなど産地の同定に帰する重要な拠り所がえられた。3の作製図版については、現在の所、産地が特定できない資料を各地の研究者に提示し、波等から産地等に関する情報をえるために公開したものである。産地同定は図面による形の上だけの比較だけでは不十分であり,胎土・製作技法の比較検討(考古学的比較観察)と自然科学的分析法による検証が相俟って初めて客観的な成果がえられるものである。しかし、産地同定のための比較検討資料をえるためには、全国的な資料の集成が大前提となるが、現状ではそうした成果の刊行はなく、そのため本研究はこの集成に力点を置かざるをえなかった。今後、この成果を充分に活用し,綿密な産地同定を進め律令時代の窯業生産供給体制の解明をめざしたいと考えている。
