项目摘要

本研究は中国国民革命期、すなわち1919年の五四運動から1937年の日中戦争の開始にいたる時期の政治外交史の基礎的研究として、とくにー次資料の整理蒐集を意図したものである。この時期は、中国の近代的発展の可能性がもっとも大きかった時期で、中国国民党による国民革命の成功が世界的注目をあびたにもかかわらず、その後の周知の歴史展開の結果として研究が相当に立ちおくれているのである。したがって、われわれはすでに相当以上の蓄積のある五四運動関係の論文を執筆すると同時に、国外ー本国の中国はもちろん、アメリカの所蔵をふくめてーの資料の蒐集を主としておこなった。もっとも注目すべきは、最近、中国各省、市、県等で刊行された文史資料のたぐいの蒐集であろう。これは、その多くが間接的な回想録であるにもかかわらず、直接資料の欠如のせいで第一次資料的役割を果させられているもので、本研究費によって数十点を増加しえたことにより、本所の所蔵分は、われわれの作成した目録によれば、74地区のもの五百冊を越えるであろう。また、アメリカからはスタンフォードのフーバー図書館から《民国名人図鑑》第13〜18巻(草創本)のマイクロフィルムを入手することができた。既刊本分第1〜12巻(写真版を既に所蔵)とあわせて、二万名をこえる網羅的な人名辞書の整備がわれわれのみならず、本所を利用される研究者に供する便宜は相当なものである。また、やや時期は前後するが、第一次国民革命である辛亥革命のさいの鄂軍都督黎元洪布告や、抗日戦争時期の地方新聞実報なども、ここにあげておくベきであろう。今後、いっそうの資料の充実をめざすための一部の基礎がここにできたことを報告するとともに、それをふまえての研究成果のさらなる公表を期したい。

This study is a basic research on the political and diplomatic history of China during the period of the National Revolution, the May Fourth Movement in 1919 and the beginning of the Sino-Japanese War in 1937.
