Changes of functions of polymorphonuclear leukocyte after surgery for carcinoma of GI tract.

食道癌术后中性粒细胞(PMN)超氧阴离子生成量明显增加，术后第3天达高峰。术后血清PMN弹性蛋白酶升高，溶菌体酶含量下降。血清补体(C3a)升高，超氧阴离子生成量变化与C3a变化有统计学意义。PMN补体受体也增加。呼吸M指数用于评估低氧血症，术后明显升高，术后第3天达到峰值。呼吸M指数的变化与PMN产生超氧阴离子的变化有统计学意义。结论：胃肠道癌术后低氧血症可能与中性粒细胞超氧阴离子产生、溶菌体酶释放等功能激活有关。

Superoxide anion production of polymorphonuclear Ieukocyte(PMN) after surgery for carcinoma of the esophagus increased significantly and reached to a peak level on 3rd-postoperative-day. Values of serum PMN elastase also increased after surgery and contents of lysozomal enzyme decreased at the same phase. Serum complement values(C3a) increased and there was statistically significant relation between the change of values of superoxide anion production and that of serum C3a. PMN complement receptors also increased. Respiratory-M-index, calculated for estimation of hypoxemia,increased significantly after surgery and reached to a peak level on 3rd-postoperative-day. There was statistically significant relation between the change of values of respiratory-M-index and that of superoxide anion production of PMN. It is concluded that hypoxemia after surgery for carcinoma of GI tract can be caused by activation of functions of PMN such as superoxide anion production and lysozomal enzyme release.
