Studies on surgical treatment for esophageal carcinoma based on biological characteristics of the cancer cell and immunological response of the patients.

对食管癌的生物学特性和免疫反应进行了临床和实验研究。流式细胞术检测肿瘤细胞核DNA含量。从这项研究来看，与二倍体相比，非整倍体癌症的存活率明显较低。但在二倍体和非整倍体癌症患者中，除早期癌症外，根治性手术无显著性差异。单克隆抗体Ki-67检测癌细胞增殖情况。由此可见，Ki-67细胞阳性的肿瘤与Ki-67细胞阴性的肿瘤相比，预后明显较差。我所研制的KISM-1单克隆抗体对食管鳞状细胞癌具有高亲和力，对胃癌和结肠癌具有低亲和力。

Biological characteristics and immnologic response of esophageal carcinoma were studied clinically and experimentally. DNA contents of the cancer cell nuclear were measured by flow cytometry. From this study, aneuploid cancer showed significant poor survival as compared to diploid one. But there were no significances in patients with radical operation except early cancers between diploid and aneuploid cancers. Proliferating cancer cells were measured by monoclonal antibody Ki-67. By this result, the cancer with Ki-67 positive cells showed significant poor prognosis as compared to the cancer without Ki-67 positive cells. Monoclonal antibody of KISM-1 which was produced in our Institute showed high affinity to esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, and a low affinity was recognized in stomach and colonic carcinoma.
