We have developed QRS (Quick Reference System) to implement onto the SONY's 32 bit work station, NEWS 1850 model, which is working under the SONY NEWS OS version 3.4 based primarily BSD 4.3 and X-Window 11 R3. The QRS are composed of the following programs : aquilax. h ldsprt. c mscasm. c pctype. h plan. h planld. c planruna. c planruna. mst planruna. s plc. c plcopt. c protolib. h qrst qrs. c qrsdef. h qrsio. c qrsmake. c qrsmous. c qrsmove. c qrssel. c qrsunix. s and tktil. c, which offer one window divided into special 4 areas ; one for question area, one for answer area, and the rest two are for reference : One can select one area for displaying question text, while using reference areas for consultation of technical unknown words in other two areas, thus getting to the right answer shown in the answer area. All the operations are to be made with the aid of the mouse for easy use.The question text collected are from the 66th to 74th national registered nurse licensure examination, from the 68th to 72th national public health nurse licensure examination and from the 65th to 69th national midwifery nurse licensure examination, totaled ca. 3 mega bytes. The reference text including medical, surgical and nursing knowledge account to about 4000 items, totaled ca. 2 mega bytes. These text files are to be collected and updated in the coming years.
