1.戦前に産出が報告されていた北朝鮮産古第三紀哺乳類化石は、総計35点であったが、そのうち10点が東京大学に、4点が京都大学に現存することが判明した。横浜国大または東北大学に現存する可能性のある1点についてはなお調査中である。2.判明した標本のすべてについて、中国、北米、フランスの標本と比較しつつ、現在の研究レベルで系統分類学的な検討を加えた結果、1939年当時に、(1)バク上科のLophialetes tokunagaiとされたものはサイ上科のForstercooperia sp.の幼体、(2)ブロントテリウム科のProtitanotherium koreanicumとされた種は同科のRhinotitan属、(3)ヘラレテス科のDesmatotherium grangeriとされたものは同科のColodon属、(4)分離した個々の歯の分類学上の同定や歯種の同定にも相当数の改訂が必要、等々の新知見を得た。なお、化石年代学的には始新世後期を示し、特に変更はない。3.ブロントテリウム類については、(1)その種類の多くが類似的な分類のままになっており、科全体の系統分類学的な再検討が急務であること、(2)これにはアメリカ自然史博物館のMcKenna博士が取り組んでいるが、未だ公表に至っていないこと、などが判明した。4.現存する14点の標本はすべて論文発表用に写真撮影するとともに、今後の研究に供するためレプリカを作製した。さらに、購入したパソコン用ハ-ドディスク装置には、北朝鮮産のものにとどまらず、関連する古第三紀哺乳類化石の文献デ-タを現在も入力しつつあり、完了ししだい文献目録を作成する予定である。また、上記2については現在英文論文にまとめつつある。
