1.「義山雑纂」「酔郷日月」両書の校注について。まず校勘であるが、両書とも主たるテキスト間の校勘を終了した。その結果、一部のテキストにかなり大きな異同が見られることが判明した。また「義山雑纂」の和刻本のうち、その二種について詳しく検討することができたが、現存する和刻本の中で最も早いと考えられる元禄八年刊本には、通行本とはかなり異なるテキストが見られた。これは和刻にあたって意識的な項目の選択がなされた可能性も考えられ、受容のあり方を検討する上で、一つの参考となると思われる。また注釈については、唐代の俗語の検討と、後代の同種の書からの類推とこの二方面から進めているが、細部において不明の点が多く、なお十分と言えない。ただ「酔郷日月」については、今年一月に中村喬氏の訳注が、『中国の酒書』(平凡社)の一部として刊行されたので、今後「義山雑纂」に集中して作業を進め、成案を得たところで発表したい。なお「雑纂」には、酒令の要素とともに、当時民間に流行していた教訓集・作法書と関連する要素も大きいことを再確認させられ、寒山や王梵志らの教戒語などを含め、俗文学から幅広く握りおこす必要性を一層強く感じた。2.唐代の筆記・小説類から酒令に関する記述を収集・整理する作業について。これは、「大平広記」「唐語林」「唐摂言」「南部新書」等、予定していた書物に対する作業を終了した。了想通り、数量的には約六十例と少なかったが、やや具体的な内容を持ち、類雑の根拠となりうる記述も約三分の一に及んだ。今後宗代の筆記類へ作業を拡大し、ある程度の量のまとまりを得たところで発表したい。
