遺伝的にほぼ等しいと思われる日系南米人2世、3世の体温調節反応を日本人と比較検討することにより、体温調節に関わる環境要因の影響を明らかにすることを目的として本研究を行なった。日系ブラジル人青年男性および日本人大学生を被験者とした。年齢、身長、体重、ロ-レル指数には両群に有意な差は認められなかった。実験は気温40℃、相対湿度約50%に設定された人工気象室内で行なわれた。被験者はショ-トパンツのみを着用し、人室後45分間は、セミリクライニング姿勢で安静にしその後あらかじめ測定された最大酸素摂取量(佐藤ら、1979)の40%の作業強度で自転車エルゴメ-タ運動を45分間行なった。安静30分目より、酸素摂取量(15分毎)、心拍数(5分毎)、前腕皮膚血流量(水銀封入ラバ-ストレインゲ-ジプレチスモグラフィ;5分毎)、発汗量(毎分)、前後体重から求めた体重減少量、皮膚温(毎分)、温冷感、快適感(15分毎)を測定した。安静時、運動時ともすべての部位で、日本人に比べブラジル人は40℃環境を暑く感じていない有意な傾向が認めれた。快適感にも日本人とブラジル人に明らかな差が認められ、ブラジル人は高温環境で不快感が少ないことが明らかになった。心拍数は、ブラジル人の方が低い傾向が認められ、運動15分、30分では危険率5%以下で有意差が認められた。胸部発汗量、前後体重から求めた体重減少量には両群間に有意な差は認められなかった。しかし、運動時の前腕皮膚血流量は、ブラジル人の方がやや低い傾向が認められた。皮膚血流が低いことは体温を越える環境では有利であると思われる。胸部皮膚温は安静時、運動時ともにブラジル人の方が高い傾向が認められた。以上のように日本人と日系南米人の高温環境における体温調節反応には明らかな違いが認められた。

The study was carried out to investigate the effects of environmental factors on the thermoregulation of Japanese Australians in the 2nd and 3rd generations.
