1. Association Behavior of Protoporphyrin in Water and Aueous Poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone)Solutions :The association behavior of protoporphyrin IX was investigated at different pH by absorption spectroscopy and gel chromatography. Protoporphyrin IX existed as monomer in acidic water as aggregate in neutral water, and as dimer in basic water. Poly(N-vinylpyrr olidone)(PVP)tended to suppress dimerization and aggregation of protoporphyrin IX.2. Gel Chromatography of Chlorophyllin(Cu-Na salt)in Water and Aqueos Poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone)Solution :Gel chromatography of chlorophyllin(Cu-Na salt)in water was compared with that in aqueous PVPsolution. A shoulder at 430 nm in the absorption spectra was due to monomer of chlorophyllin(Cu-Na salt). PVP tended to suppress aggregation of chlorophyllin(Cu-Na salt).3. Interaction between Water-Soluble Polymer and Chlorophyll a, beta-Carotene :The treatment of ultrasonic wave had no effect on the wavelength and half band width of red peak of chlorophyll a. By gel chromatography, a red-shifted absorption band(>495 nm)of beta-carotene was not separated from the other bands of shorter wavelength.4. Solubilization of Bilirubin in Neutral Water by Using Ammonia :
