本年度はこれまで集められた大量の資料の整理が中心であるが、その過程で次のような困難に出あった。1.主要言語圏のうち、英・独については、ほぼ完全な出版目録があるが、日・仏においてはない。日本の出版物は現物で確認できるけれども、フランスの国立図書館蔵書目録は、1900年に公刊を開始したため、20世紀の出版物をカヴァーしていない。したがってフランス書については、Nucその他、さまざまな書誌を並用しなければならなかった。2.その他の言語については、ハンガリー,ポルトガル,デンマーク,イタリア,ロシアの研究者の協力がえられたが、オランダ,スペイン,フィンランド,チェコスロヴァキアについては、協力を依頼した相手の退職・死亡・国内事情などによって資料の提供がえられなかった。これらの国についても、国際的な評価をえている文献は既に収録してあるが、全体としてみればアンバランスは否定できないので、なお情報収集の努力を続けたい。3.日本語文献については、情報が多すぎて選択がむずかしいことは別にしても、旧漢字がワープロ作業の障害になった。新漢字に直すにしても、その作業は通常のオペレーターの能力をこえているのである。4.中国語文献については、旧漢字の問題に加えて、簡体字がワープロにかからないという問題があり、結局筆写によらざるをえなかった。さらに外国文献の中国語訳については、日本語・欧米語の原典確認にそれぞれの困難があった。日本語文献は、日本での評価にかかわりなく手あたり次第の翻訳がおこなわれた形跡があり、原典不明のものがあったし、欧米の著者名の漢字表記も、原典確認を困難にした。以上のような困難は、かなり克服しえたけれども完全に解消したわけではなく、特に2でのべたようなアンバランスは、今後の課題として残っている。
