1.第1次(平成元年度)・第2次(平成2年度)の2ケ年間の日韓共同研究実績を踏まえ、第3次(平成3年度、最終年次)の日韓共同研究は、自然・人文地理班、漁業経済班、漁村社会班、漁民意識・生活慣習班の4つの研究グル-プを編成し、研究グル-プ単位に昨年度の調査地に出向き、(1)日本と韓国との間の水産資源、並びに、漁場の利用にかかわる歴史的考察、(2)対馬周辺海域における水産資源の現状(資源の枯渇と濫獲に注目)、(3)対馬における漁業と漁村の生活の現状(漁法の変化、若者の島外流出、古い生活慣習の温存とそれからの脱皮の動き、その他に注目)、(4)対馬における漁業・漁村の活性化の方向(町単位の新しい町おこし運動に注目)、更に、(5)対馬が韓国との国境に位置するという地域特性に即した、対馬全体の地域開発の方法等にかかわる具体的な資料の集収(島誌・町誌・その他の文献資料や聞取りなどによる)に努めた。2.全島2郡6町に分散する個別調査地区の地域特性を、対馬全体の現状との関連において把握するため、研究グル-プ単位に対馬支庁その他の行政機関や系統団体に出向き、関連情報の集収に努めた。3.特に、対馬支庁と厳原海上保安部では、歴史的に密接な関連をもつ韓国を視野に入れた対馬全体の地域開発の方向(釡山との定期航路開設、アリラン祭り、韓国側研究者の来島、その他の新しい動きに注目)、並びに、対馬周辺海域における漁場の利用状況にかかわる資料の集収に努めた。島民は、釡山との交流再開による島起こしを熱望している。4.3ケ年間に及ぶ研究成果の公表・出版に向けての総括・編集会議を開いて、平成4年度に文部省科研費(研究成果公開促進費)を申請し、研究成果を公表することを決定し、併せて、平成3年8月末日までに、研究者単位の執筆原稿を研究代表者に送ることも決定した。
