過去3回に亙り、日英の科学教育セミナ-が開催され、両国の科学教育の振興に貢献した.このセミナ-の開催地は、交互にわが国と英国で選定されるが、1993年に予定されている次回は、英国が主催することになっている.本研究班は、次回の日英科学教育セミナ-の準備委員会の性格をもっており、今年度は合計4回の会合をもった.研究分担者は、数学・物理学・化学・生物学・教育工学の代表者と高校教師からなり、それぞれの立場から、わが国の科学教育で英国側に関心をもたれる事項を整理し、また、英国から学ぶべき内容の所在を検討した.次回のセミナ-の開催に当たっては、前回の閉会式で以下のことが同意されている.(1)セミナ-の実施の前に、両国は教育行政上の基礎知識を予習しておき、セミナ-の効率化を図る.(2)教育の比較には、現場教師の体験を基礎とすることが肝要で、「高校教師の交換プロジェクト」を実施し、その成果をセミナ-に反映する.(3)セミナ-の主題は、予め設定しておき、両国でそれぞれ研究した上、その成果を発表する形式とする.(4)会期は従来通り正味5日間とするが、時期については1992年に決定する.以上の前提に立って本年度の総合研究Bを遂行したが、この間に、幸い、英国から代表者が2回来日し、また、日本側からも英国で打ち合せする機会があったので、所期の目的を達成することが出来た.研究の結果得られた次回セミナ-の骨格は次のようである.(1)会期は1993年1月とする.(2)日本の科学教育を英国人により深く理解して貰うために、セミナ-の前にBritish Association for science Educationの年次大会に全日本人参加者を招聘し、「Japan Booth」を設ける.(3)セミナ-の主題は、わが国の改訂学習指導要領と英国のNational Curiculumの比較検討、および(4)21世紀に向けての科学教育の指針の協議とする.

In the past 3 years, the contribution of science education in Japan and the United Kingdom to the revitalization of science education in China has been promoted.
