项目摘要

本研究の目的は、海面上昇を科学的に予測し、有効な対応戦略を構築するための研究の準備段階として、現在の科学的認識の到達点と不充分性を整理・把握すると共に、次のステップの総合的な研究の企画を行なうことである。そのため、研究班を「海面上昇の実態」「自然海岸における影響」「都市沿岸域への影響」「水域と水質への影響」の4つに分けて、研究を実施した。その結果、次のような知見を得た。1)海面水位を変化させる原因には(1)陸地の上昇・沈降、(2)海水の水温変化、(3)氷河の融解、(4)海洋の体積変化、(5)風系や海流の変動などがある。温暖化に関連するのは、(2)と(3)であるが、海面水位とそれらの関係を定量的に明らかにするのは易しくはない。2)自然海岸としては、砂浜海岸、海崖、河口・三角州、湿地帯・干潟、サンゴ礁、マングロ-ブ植生海浜を対象に広範な文献レビュ-を行なった。これらの海岸に対して、海面上昇が物理面と生態系との両面で大きな影響を及ぼすことを明らかにし、それらの影響が顕在化する経路を示した影響伝搬図を作製した。3)都市沿岸域では、台風に伴なう高潮や波浪、潮流といった外力の変化が、港湾、漁港、臨海部のインフラストラクチャ-に及ぼす影響が大きいことを明らかにした。文献レビュ-によってこれらの影響の評価手法の到達点を示した。4)水域と水質についても、文献レビュ-を基礎に海面上昇と水温上昇の影響をとりまとめた。これらの知見に基づいて、各々の分野における今後の課題を体系的にまとめた。それに取り組むため、平成4年度科研費総合研究(A)に申請するなど、既に次のステップに踏み出しつつある。
