日本の高校生185名を対象に,これまでの発達の過程で重要な影響を受けた他者(以下,関与者)を10名まで挙げさせ,それぞれの関与者について,本人との関係,かかわりの時期や期間,年齢や職業,仕事の内容などについての情報を得ると共に,その関与者とどのような活動を共にしたか,またその関与者がどのようなかかわり方(例えば「新しい考え方や新しい経験を教えてくれた」。以下,機能的役割)をしたかについての調査を行った。あわせて,学業成績や適性に関する情報を得た。本年度は,このデ-タの収集,整理,コ-ディング,パソコンへの入力等にほとんどの時間を費やした。得られたデ-タについての,一次的な分析の結果について述べる。関与者については,延べ1274名(1対象者平均7名)が挙げられ,わが国の高校生の場合,同年齢の友人がもっとも多く(645名,50.6%)、次いで両親(218名,17.1%),そして学校教師(185名,14.5%)であった。関与者の機能的役割(29項目)についての因子分析の結果,「メンタ-・サポ-タ-」「仲間との積極的交互作用」「モデルの見習い」「感情的対立」「従属関係」「有能さへの尊敬」の6因子が得られた。米国の大学生の場合,「メンタ-」と「サポ-タ-」が分離して,しかもサポ-タ-の負荷が小さいことと比較して考えると,わが国の高校生の場合,関与者が「メンタ-・サポ-タ-」という二面性の融合した特性が第1の因子として示されてくるところに,極めて重要な特徴があると考える。今後,調査内容についての多面的な分析を進めると共に,日本の大学生,米国の高校生・大学生との比較検討を進めていきたい。
