项目摘要

本研究課題である外資系企業の経営戦略と経営成果について実証的研究を進めた。日本の中の外国企業(外資系企業)1490社に、企業戦略および研究開発、生産、マ-ケティングなどの機能別戦略、経営成果に関するアンケ-ト調査表を郵送し、平成4年2月29日までに440社から回答を得た。アンケ-ト調査表は、53の質問、18ペ-ジ、日本語と英語の双方で表現、の本格的なものである。440社の回答は、この種のアンケ-ト調査に関しては異例の多さといったよい。アンケ-ト質問の回答に関する統計分析の結果を基礎にして、外資系企業の成功のキ-ファクタ-を明らかにし、理論的な含意を検討した。平成4年3月27日に、外資系企業に関心のある研究者、実務家、コンサルタントなどを対象としたセミナ-でアンケ-ト調査にもとづいた分析結果を報告する予定である。アンケ-ト調就のこれまでの分析から、日本で成功している外資系企業の特徴として、日本市場を重視、日本子会社を戦略拠点にする、自主的経営を実施、現地人(日本人)が社長、イノベ-ションを生み出す、イノベ-ションの成果を本国親会社に逆移転している、などが明らかになっている。アンケ-ト調査と並行して主要な外資系企業への訪問インタビュ-調査を実施した。そのインタビュ-調査の分析は現在進めているが、すでに1編の研究論文ができている。黄論文は、外資系自動車メ-カ-のなかで成功しているビ-・エム・ダブリュ-のケ-スを分析した。そのなかで、マ-ケティング・イノベ-ションと現地市場への適応の重要性を示し、日本市場で成功するための外資系企業のマ-ケティング戦略の特徴を検討した。以上のような研究からえた成果は、多国籍企業の理論の新しい展開のための材料でもある。すなわち、多国籍企業にとって日本市場および日本子会社の戦略的な位置づけ、自律的な経営と革新の双方向的な移転の間題はますます重要になろう。
