二系統に分類される心敬の連歌論『さゝめごと』の諸本のうち、版本系『さゝめごと』については、無住の『沙石集』との思想的連関が指摘されきている。私はこれまで心敬の天台仏教思想の受容状況を解明するため、彼の論著における仏教語及び仏教思想の理解について検討を続けてきたが、その結果、二系統の『さゝめごと』には、思想的にそれらを二分するような仏教想の受容上の差異が認められることに気づいた。そこで、従来『さゝめごと』との思想的関連が非常に深いとされてきた『沙石集』の思想を検討し、二系統の『さゝめごと』と『沙石集』の思想的な連関係の相違を明らかにして、二系統の『さゝめごと』の思想的立場の相違を究明しようと考えた。まず、『さゝめごと』と『沙石集』との思想的な連関関係の中核とみなされてきた、和歌陀羅尼説に注目、これを取り上げて検討を加えた。無住の和歌陀羅尼説には、和歌と念仏・真言との等質視が認められ、口誦の重視が認められた。一方、心敬の和漢陀羅尼説には、悟りの境地から発せられる言語として、和歌を真言と等質視するのが見られた。その際、念仏は軽視されており、また口誦よりも勘案が重視されていた。さらに、『沙石集』の和歌陀羅尼説においては重要である達磨説話が、二系統の『さゝめごと』のうち版本系だけに見られるという事実に着目し、検討を加えた。以上により、『沙石集』と『さゝめごと』の関係を捉え直せたと思う。また、二系統の『さゝめごと』の思想的立場の相違もかなりの程度に明らかにできたと思う。以上の結果をふまえつつ、『さゝめごと』と『沙石集』の密教や戒律に関する理解について引き続き比較検討して行きたい。そしてそれにより、中世文学の思想的な基盤としての仏教思想のありようを探って行きたい。
