项目摘要

科学研究費補助金の交付により、その設備備品費を用いて広東省の漢族文化に関連する文献資料(新修方志叢刊広東方志)を購入するとともに、旅費、通信費を用いて大学等(東京大学、国立民族学博物館)所蔵の関連文献を参照し、広東漢族の地方文化に関する資料整理を行った。この際に資料整理謝金を支出した。また、かつて現地調査によって撮影した広東地域の漢族文化に関する写真多数を、資料整理謝金を支出して整理し、これを画像データベース化した。この際にパソコン・ソフトウェアや光磁気ディスク・メディア等の消耗品を購入し、また写真現像費を支出した。そしてこれらにより整理した資料を基に、広東省を中心とする中国東南部の漢族文化の多様性についての分析を行い、「客家」や「広東本地人」などの方言集団の境界と、風俗習慣一般レベルでの相違が必ずしも一致するものではないことを明らかにした。すなわち、そうした風俗習慣レベルの相違は、例えば年中行事一つをとってみても、同一方言集団内に極めて多様な変異が認められる一方、従来一部地域では「客家」と「広東本地人」との境界を表示する文化的指標と見なされることのあった特定の儀礼や食習慣が、必ずしもいずれかの方言集団に特有のものとは言えないことが明らかになった。なお、これらの研究成果については、本報告書11の「研究発表」の欄に記載した論文2篇、著書1冊の中でその主要部分を公表した。さらに残る部分についても学術雑誌等に公表するべく準備を進めており、平成6年度中には実現の見込みである。
