近年ディスクロージャーの拡充という点から、現在までの企業が公表する財務諸表の種類、形式そして内容が見直されてきている。本研究は、資金情報の開示に焦点をあてている。資金概念を『現金及び現金同等物』としたキャッシュ・フロー計算書が注目されたのは、1987年にアメリカのFASBが、基準書第95号を公表してから以後である。キャッシュ・フロー情報は、伝統的な発生主義会計によって算出された利益情報に対して、見積や、主観的判断の影響の入らない情報を提供できるという特徴を有している。つまり、キャッシュ・フロー情報は、発生主義への変換過程における情報のロスをもたらさないという意味において情報の利用者にとって有用なものである。今年度の研究として、まず第一に、キャッシュ・フロー計算書の国際的展開をIASの基準を中心におこなった。IASは、1992年12月に、これまでの財政状態変動表に代えて、キャッシュ・フロー計算書に関する基準を公表し、その作成・開示を義務づけた。IASのそれは、FASBと形式・内容の面で非常に類似したものであり、利用者が、経済的意志決定をする場合においてキャッシュ・フロー情報を非常に重要なものとして位置付けている。しかし、FASBと資金の分類や表示方法について若干の相違があることも事実である。IASのキャッシュ・フロー計算書が、証券監督者国際機構の承認を受け国際的に影響力を持つことになったため、その相違点に関して、両者またはイギリスなどと比較しながら問題点を整理する必要があると認識し、資金情報の国際的比較可能性を高めるための私見を提示した。第2は、アメリカにおける資金情報の開示の現状とそれが株価などとどのように関連があるかという点について、調査をした。しかしこの点については、研究を継続中である。日本における調査を含め、続けて研究をすることにしている。
