New Generation Satellite Network and Inter-university System

先进的高功率卫星的出现和地面站成本的降低使大学能够利用实际的卫星进行实验。针对这一情况，成立了由日本40多所大学、韩国两所大学和中国组成的大学数字卫星通信联合研究小组(UNSAT JSG)，约30所大学正在通过Ku波段卫星利用自己的地面站进行实验。这些实验涵盖了多个研究领域，如无线电传播特性、通信方案、大学之间的网络结构、视频、图像和计算机数据的传输和安全。考虑到卫星具有提供无边界通信的内在潜力，国际合作预计，在不久的将来，卫星实验将在亚太地区广泛推广。

The appearance of advanced satellites with high power and the cost reduction of earth stations enabled universities to conduct experiments using actual satellites. Taking account of this situation, the University^<, >s Joint Study Group for Digital Satellite Communications (UnSAT JSG) has been established, in which more than forty universities in Japan, two universities each in Korea and China join and about thirty universities are actually carrying out experiments using their own earth stations via Ku-band satellite. The experiments cover a variety of study fields such as radio propagation characteristics, communications scheme, network structure between universities, transmission and security of video, image and computer data. Considering that satellites have an inherent potential to provide borderless communications, it is expected by the international cooperation that the experiments via satellite will widely spread over the Asia-Pacific region in the near future.
