この研究は、(1)歯周疾患罹患歯の植立状態を臨床的により詳細を評価するために、歯に振動を加えたときの周波数応答を測定する方法(動的動揺度測定法)を確立すること(2)歯周疾患治療の進行の中で他の臨床的パラメーターとこの動的動揺度の関連性を分析することの2つを目的として行われた。以下に研究業績の概要を示す。北海道大学歯学部附属病院を受診した患者8名に対して、通常の歯周疾患診査を行うとともに、上顎前歯の動的動揺度の測定を行った。動的動揺度の測定は上顎前歯口蓋面に小型の加速度センサーを瞬間接着剤で装着し唇側よりペリオテストで打振することで振動を加え、歯周組織の振動応答を歯に加わる加速度の変化としてピックアップしてチャージアンプで増幅したのちシグナルプロセッサーに入力した。入力データはフーリエ変換し周波数のパワースペクトラムを得た。その結果、歯の動揺度が増加するに従って打振に対する周波数のパワースペクトラムが左方へ移動し、より低周波域に現れ、先に行った人口歯根における動物実験と同様の傾向を示すことが明らかになった。このことから今回の方法による歯の動揺度測定はこれまで主観的に行われてきた歯の動揺度の測定を客観的に行うことができるものであり、臨床応用可能あることが明らかになった。現在さらに他の臨床的パラメーターの推移と動的動揺度の数値の関連性について検討すべく実験を進めている。
