本年度の研究では、電球産業を研究対象に選び、特に以下の2点-(1)中小工業分野における国内統制政策の展開と、(2)朝鮮における電球業の発展とそれに対する朝鮮総督府、内地業者、政府の対応-に関する精力的な資料調査を実施した。まず(1)に関しては、(ア)国内向電球と(イ)輸出向電球の異なる製品市場が存在し、その各々で特色のある統制政策が展開されたことが明らかになった。そこで、収集した統計資料により両市場の特徴を検討した結果、各工業組合設立期(30〜2年)と、連合会設立直後(34〜5年)が、時期的に重要であることがわかった。また両期間に関して、当時の新聞、政府文書、業界団体所蔵資料を収集した結果、(ア)では中規模企業が組織する工業組合とアウトサイダー大企業との関係、(イ)では工業組合と下請メーカーとの関係の調整が、統制上の主要問題であった点が明らかとなった。さらにこの点をふまえ、これらの問題に対して、政策当局がいかなるスタンスで、どのような施策を行ったのかを検討した。現在、以上の検討結果を論文にまとめつつある。また(2)に関しては、現地新聞(京城日報)や、釜山、京城商工会議所発行の『月報』類などにあたり、朝鮮における電球業の実態を解明することに努めた。その過程で、総督府の「工業化」方針に支えられた朝鮮電球業の発展と、それにともなう国内業者との対立と協調関係(特に対英電球輸出統制における)が、資料制約の問題はあるものの、ある程度明らかとなりつつある。ただしその立ち入った考察は、上記国内統制に関する論文作成後に取り組む予定である。
