For the historical study on nuclear research during post war period in Japan one usually uses published books and papers on the subjects or letters written by persons concerned. Post war Japan, however, was under occupation of Allied Powers and the nuclear resarch was prohibitted by FEC (Far Eastern Committee), the historical documents during occupation era are scarce.Several years ago GHQ documents were open to public in United States and one also able to view the documents at the National Diet Library in Japan. And the new type of historical documents were discovered. Among many GHQ documents there were many letters and papers originally written by japanese and inspected by GHQ under suspection of GHQ order violation. There we also found annual accounting documents submitted to Education Ministry from Japanese Universities.These facts suggest us that we can use annual accounting documents as historical research data. In this research the possibility of using annual accounting documents to Education Ministry was pursued. Since these documents were of character of semi-official documents, it has been confirmed in many universities these documents have not been abolished. In many universities, however, the documents are not in good states of preservation. Thus it is concluded that only the sooner preservation of these documents can save the high quality historical data from their lossings and scatterings.

战后日本核研究的历史研究，通常是利用有关的书籍、论文或有关人士的书信。战后的日本被盟军占领，核研究被远东委员会（FEC）禁止，占领时期的历史文献非常稀少。几年前，GHQ的文件在美国向公众开放，人们也可以在日本国立国会图书馆看到这些文件。新的历史文献类型被发现。在许多GHQ文件中，有许多最初由日本人撰写的信件和论文，并因涉嫌违反GHQ命令而被GHQ检查。在这里，我们还发现了日本大学向文部省提交的年度会计文件。这些事实表明，我们可以使用年度会计文件作为历史研究资料。在这项研究中，探讨了向教育部提供年度会计文件的可能性。由于这些文件具有半官方文件的性质，许多大学都没有废除这些文件。然而，在许多大学，这些文件的保存状况并不好。只有尽快将这些文献保存起来，才能挽救这些高质量的史料，使其不致流失和散落。
