SEA LEVEL RISE AND BEACH EROSIONS AROUND THE SEA OF JAPAN

本研究考察了日本海沿岸平均海平面的长期变化，以及海平面、气压和气温变化之间的相关性。用移动平均线对潮汐资料进行分析，结果表明海平面正在上升。波浪槽试验表明，水位上升引起的静态后退和波浪作用引起的附加后退都有助于总后退。利用Bruun等研究者在各种假设下建立的模型，预测了一些地方潜在的海岸线退缩，结果显示沙滩有严重丧失的风险。最后，研究了风暴潮对滩涂的侵蚀和恢复过程。结果表明：长期海平面上升和风暴潮共同作用导致海滩侵蚀严重，且不存在风暴潮对海滩的恢复过程；

The present study investigates long-term changes in mean sea-level as well as correlation among sea-level, atmospheric pressure and air temperature changes around the coast of the Sea of Japan. Tidal data have been analyzed by moving average and results showd that the sea-level is rising. Wave tank experiments demonstrated that both static retreat by water-level rise and additional retreat due to wave action contributes to total retreat. Potential shoreline retreat was predicted in some places using model developed by Bruun and other investigators under various assumptions and results showed risk of serious loss of sandy beach.Finally, erosion and recovery processes of beach due to storm surge was investigated. The results showed that combination of both long-term sea level rise and storm surge causes sever beach erosion and there is no recovery processes of beach by storm surge.
