Functional analysis of roles of Pax-1 during vertebral column development

Pax-1是一种转录激活因子，含有配对盒作为DNA结合结构域。通过对Pax-1缺陷小鼠的分析，证明Pax-1是中轴骨骼腹侧结构产生所必需的。为了获得对Pax-1功能的进一步了解，我已经产生了过表达Pax-1蛋白的小鼠。在这种小鼠中，肋骨尾椎远侧区的发育受到影响。这一结果表明Pax-1的下调对中轴骨骼的形态发生也很重要。

Pax-1 is transcriptional activator containing paired-box as DNA binding domain. From the analysis of Pax-1 deficient mice, Pax-1 was proved to be required for the generation of ventral structures of axial skeleton. To gain further insights for Pax-1 function, I have generated mice over expressing Pax-1 protein. In this mouse, development of caudal vertebral distal region of rib were affected. This result indicates that down regulation of Pax-1 is also important for the morphogenesis of axial skeleton.
