本年度は、特に対象を中学校1年生にしぼり、個別法で施行されたハンドテストと、中学生用ストレス反応尺度(岡安・嶋田・坂野1992)との関連について調べられた。被検者は公立中学校の1年生男子82名、女子87名、計169名である。各人はハンドテストの施行に先だって集団形式で中学生用ストレス反応尺度に回答を求められた。この結果、中学1年生のハンドテスト反応に次のような傾向が認められた。(1)性差としてハンドテストCOM反応は女子生徒に多く、AGG反応は男子生徒に多くみられた。(2)ハンドテストAFF反応及びTEN反応において、中学生用ストレス反応尺度の、不機嫌・怒り感情因子得点、身体的反応因子得点、無力的認知・思考因子得点との間に負の有意な相関が見られた。(3)ハンドテストDEP反応は、同様に不機嫌・怒り感情因子得点と抑うつ、不安感情因子得点との間に正の有意な相関が見られた。以上の結果より、中学生に対して個別に施行されたハンドテストは、中学生の日常生活における行為傾向や生活感情をよく反映し、本法の学校心理査定への適性が示唆された。たとえば1年生女子は、男子に比べて対人コミュニケーションへの志向が強い。一方、1年生男子は女子に比較して攻撃的な志向が強く示された。これは男子が男性性の確立という心理的課題にとりくむ際、自己の攻撃性を意識化しこれを行動化し誇示することが男性的自己主張と感じている傾向と呼応している。また、施行における脅威の少ない簡便な投影法ハンドテストによって、生徒のストレス反応に関する訴えの強さの指標を得る可能性が示唆された。すなわち、AFE反応は、向社会的志向を示しており、TEN反応は心理的緊張感が自覚されながら行動化を抑制する傾向と関わるだろう。これらの反応を産出する生徒は自己のストレス反応を積極的に訴えようとしない。逆に、DEP反応は他者の助けを求める傾向である。そこでストレスの訴えも比較的強くなっていることが予想されるだろう。本年度においては、当初、計画されていた学年比較を行うことができなかった。しかし単一学年の資料を綿密に検討することでハンドテストの学校心理査定への適性を検証することができた。学年比較による発達指標の研究は今後の課題として残された。
