好酸球浸潤をともなう皮膚疾患と、ケモカインとの関連について検討するため、免疫組織化学法により、好酸球に対し活性を示すケモカインRANTES、MIP-1α、好中球に対する活性を持つIL-8、及び単球に対する活性を持つMCP-1の沈着について比較検討を試みた。生検組織HE染色標本で好酸球浸潤の認められた症例(Hypereosinophilic syndrome、中毒疹、アトピー性皮膚炎等)を対象とし、生検時得られた凍結標本より切片を作成し、上記のケモカインに対する抗体を用いて免疫組織染色を行ったが、いずれの疾患についても好酸球浸潤の程度とそれぞれのケモカインの沈着との間に明らかな関連は認められなかった。また各種疾患患者末梢血より分離した好酸球のRANTESによる遊走を比較したことろでは、アトピー性皮膚炎患者群に遊走の亢進を認める例もあるが、疾患群間の差よりもむしろ固体差が大きくみられている。これらの結果から、皮膚疾患における好酸球浸潤とケモカイン、特にRANTES、の関連は現段階では明らかではない。しかし、免疫組織化学に関しては、ここに挙げたサイトカインは何れも細胞より遊離されるものであり、凍結切片中でも十分に保持されていない可能性も考えられ、技術的な問題も含めさらに検討が必要である。
