项目摘要

生活文化における伝統とは、本来それぞれの社会固有の生活様式に基づいて作り出されてきたものである。しかし、同時に、それは様々な要因によって常に変動していくダイナミックな過程でもある。本研究は、20世紀半ばの数十年にわたり、長い戦争によって、既存の生活組織を失い、さらにその後、激しい近代化の嵐に直面して、文化共同の危機にさらされているヴェトナムをとりあげ、現代における生活文化伝統の動態を明らかにしようとしたものである。日本側とヴェトナム側それぞれの関心に違いがあることから、共通の研究骨組をそれぞれのヴェクトルの上で吟味して調査をすすめ、そのうえで、相互の成果を交換討論するという作業手順を確認し、研究を開始した。研究の骨組となったのは、次の各項である。1,現代ヴェトナムの伝統文化変容過程の把握 2.祭礼行事における象徴の意味変化 3.共同体の崩壊と祝祭組織 4.ヴェトナムに古くからある「祖先回帰」の意味変化 5.伝統文化とされるものの保存と継承 6.創造される祝祭行事。このうち、日本側は、主として、社会科学的な実態調査を担当し、ヴェトナム側は、民俗・文献調査を主として調査をすすめた。三年間の日本側研究では、対象としたヴェトナム北部の祝祭は10余にのぼり、これらを通じて、ヴェトナムの伝統祝祭といわれるものとその動態とは、かなり明確になってきた。国土が荒廃し、生活組織が変化するなかで、社会主義政権のもとですすめられる文化復興は、それを担う祝祭集団の社会的性格を浮き彫りにしながらあらたなかたちを創造しつつあるようにみえる。今後、ヴェトナム側の民俗・文献調査結果との摺り合わせを一層深めることによって、主題の一層の深化が期待される。
