项目摘要

本研究は、晩年パーソンズの未公刊資料を発掘・解読することによって、未だ殆ど知られていない「人間の条件」パラダイムに秘められているクローバルに発想を、解析しようとするものであった。この作業は、現在も継続中であるが、現時点までに、すでにつぎのような新たな知見を得ることができている。まず第一に、晩年パーソンズの「人間の条件」パラダイムが、彼の医療社会学研究と緊密に結びあって展開されていること、とりわけ不妊治療や臓器移植・遺伝子検査などの、医療技術の飛躍的発展がもたらした人間の「生と死」のコントロール可能性の拡大を見据えつつ、生命倫理を根本的に再検討する枠組みとして、まさに「人間の条件」パラダイムが構想されるにいたったことが、明らかにされた。さらに第二に、この晩年パーソンズの理論的作業は、現実に進行中であった1970年代アメリカの「医療思想革命」との具体的関連を意識しながら、それへの解答を用意する作業となっていること、したがって、「自発的なインフォームド・コンセント」や「プライヴァシ-保護」・「患者の自己決定権」と医師の専門職的性格とのバランスのとりかたを、具体的に考えるための枠組みの提出につながるものであったことが、解明された。この研究の途上で、「アメリカ医療問題関係年表」と「晩年パーソンズの医療社会学関係未公刊資料リスト」を作成した。近々の内にこれらの成果を公刊し、本研究の成果の公刊とともに、学界の共有財産としたいと作業を進めている。
