This research intends to reconstruct one side only of "Stillness", the French Mediaeval Literature, ---namely "Courtliness/ Courtly Literature", up to the present, is considered--- and is directed to "movement". This includes both ideas 1), (1) boat ( navigation) (2) road (peregrination), real or imaginary. 2) Travels inspired from traditional culture are also included. 1), (1) La Mort le Roi Artu , la Queste dou Saint Graal and some Latin documents of the thirteenth century show a great interest in this world, especially related to burial. These studies concern the metamorphosis of travels of the dead and their passages to poetical motifs. 1), (1), (2)They discuss too the journeys to the Holy Land just after paradise was lost, and according to different traditions earthly paradise was situated in the Far East and also the Far West. In the latter half of le Roman de Tristan en prose, separation between the principal characters of the two Britanias paradoxically becomes closer and the function of their ring/signet ring and dogs confirms the authenticity of their love for each others. 1), (1), (2)Hunting which is parallel to riding and quest, is introduced for the first time in this romance. The pursuit of the "composite beast" by Paramede appears to be the negative aspect of the Quest of the Holy Grail), (1), (2). 2) This research examines Bones Artu (Arthur's Pillar) and Ar-bre Sol, which are preserved in the arthurian/alexandrian legacy. They make their appearances in Polo and Mandeville, giving different points of view about exotic cultures. This research also concern the "wandering knight" in Chretien de Troyes and the motif of trees.
