"Kawamawasi Sinden" is the local type of the ricefield in Boso Hills, Chiba Prefecture, Japan. The farmers in Boso Hills in Edo Era cut off incised meandering valleys by strait canals or tunnels and build narrow ricefield on the abandoned river floor.By this investigation the locations and types of "Kawamawasi Sinden" are discovered and counted. The number of the locations is 450. "Kawamawasi Sinden" is classified to five types.The cost and the days of the building "Kawamawasi Sinden" are estimated by the classic documents.
