平成5年度から平成7年度に長崎県で実施された歯科疾患実態調査と身体調査の両方を受けた20歳以上の者1643名を対象者として歯科疾患データと身体データをリンクさせて両データ間の関連性を検討した。説明変数として「性別(制御因子)」,「歩行数」,「喫煙」,「飲酒」,「BMI」,「皮下脂肪」,「最高血圧」,「最低血圧」,血液検査データの「HB」,「RBC」,「TC」,「TG」,「HDLC」,「TO」,「GLO」を設定し,「現在歯数」または「歯肉の状態」を目的変数として重回帰分析を行った。分析は全年齢(制御因子として「年齢」を追加して分析)ならびに10歳刻みの年代別に検討した。「現在歯数」を全年齢で分析した結果,制御因子である「性」と「年齢」を考慮しても尚,関連性が有意に高い項目は「HDLC」,「皮下脂肪」,「歩行数」,「GLO」であった。年齢別分析で有意な関連があったものは30歳代では「TP」,40歳代では「性」,「皮下脂肪」,「TC」,50歳代では「性」,「HDLC」,「GLO」,70歳代では「性」,80歳以上では「喫煙」,「HB」,「RBC」であった。「歯肉の状態」を目的変数にして全年齢で分析した結果は「性」と「年齢」以外に有意な項目は認められなかった。年齢別分析で有意性が認められた項目は60歳代では「性」,「皮下脂肪」,「BMI」,「RBC」,「HB」,70歳代では「皮下脂肪」と「性」,80歳以上では「性」,「最低血圧」、「TP」,「TG],「HDLC」であった。
