The fields of molecular conductors and molecular magnets are very active and have long history in Japan. This research projects aimed to cultivate new research field between the field of molecular conductors and that of molecular magnets by the tight cooperation between physicists and chemists in these fields. During the term of this project, we have developed various magnetic organic superconductors exhibiting unprecedented electro-magnetic properties by combining conduction function of π donor molecules and magnetic function of anions. Typical examples are the first antiferro-magnetic organic superconductor κ-(BETS)_2FeBr_4 and λ-(BETS)_2FeCl_4 exhibiting field-induced superconductivity. We have also developed chiral molecular magnets with fairly high T_<c'> which are expected to show a salient bi-functional magneto-optical properties such as magneto-chiral dichroism. Through these works, various multi-functional magnetic molecular systems, where the electron spins play an essential role have been discovered.
