本年度は、以下の諸点について研究を実施した。1.引き続き『五岳真形図』の諸版の蒐集を進め、その間における相違点および継承関係などの考察を行った。また、『人鳥山図』などの関連図像との比較検討を実施した。2.昨年度実施した泰山地域の衛星画像データによる地理的分析および現地蒐集データとの突きあわせと検証を行った。3.四川地域の「二十四治」関連の衛星画像データを蒐集するとともに、2000年10月に四川省成都市周辺の山岳地帯におけるランド・マークなどのデータの蒐集を実施した。4.昨年度に引き続き、衛星画像データを利用するための処理手法の確立に関する研究を実施した。しかし、出来あいの画像処理ソフトによる処理では、本研究の目的に十分適合した分析が必ずしも有効に行えなかった。このため、今後は独自の処理プログラムの作成が必要である。以上の作業により、『五岳真形図』のイメージの来源を確定するための基礎的作業は一応終了したが、なお多くの問題が未解決のまま残った。最大の問題点は、中国の山岳部の対応したDEM(Deigital Elevation Model)データの入手困難である。今後、精度の良いDEMデータを入手できれば、これまでに蓄積したデータを十分に活用して、さらなる研究の展開を図ることが可能であると思われる。
